About Me...

Annette A. Wells, LMBT, CRMT, Owner, BodyMindSpirit LLC

Annette has been doing bodywork for friends and family since the 1970's and brings diverse skills, extensive experience, deep knowledge, and intuition to the table. She has studied acupressure/Shiatsu, Traditional Chinese Medicine, reflexology, aromatherapy, nutrition, exercise physiology, myofascial release, structural integration, oncology massage, Thai Tok-Sen, sound therapy, intraoral/buccal massage, migraine and headache massage, yoga, qigong, and energy medicine as an autodidact over the last 20 years. She combines her expertise in many modalities to create a Customized Integrative Massage for each client, each session.

She earned a certificate in therapeutic massage in 2013 and had her own private practice, and also worked at The Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute, The Cincinnati Sports Club, and The Museum 21c Spa. She taught in the Massage and Bodywork program at Spartanburg Community College for 3 years before moving to Ohio.

She is also a Certified Reiki Master Teacher and Karuna Reiki™ Master Teacher, and a certified HeartMath™ clinician. In addition to her massage therapy practice, Annette is an exhibiting artist, developmental editor and writer, and a lifelong educator who was a tenured Professor of Fine Arts/Humanities for nearly 20 years.

Her goal in providing massage to her clients is to facilitate relaxation and healing, relieve stress, and support each individual's wellness goals for the session and beyond.

From The Cindy Catches the Enemy, Director of Oceti Wakan, where Annette was a developmental editor and content creator for the Wolakota Life Skills for Teens books and K-12 curricula:

FormerTenured Professor of Humanities in the Department of Arts and Philosophy, and a scholar with credentials spanning a wide range of disciplines that reflect the wholeness this curriculum aims to develop. Certified in Stress Management, HeartMath Clinical Practice, Pedagogy, Assessment, Psychometrics, and Curriculum Development, she offers a strong academic foundation in understanding how humans learn, heal, and grow. Her expertise also includes Deep Ecology, Indigenous Cosmology, Sustainability, and Mental Health First Aid — connecting individuals' inner lives with the health of the communities and living systems around them. Annette's contribution to this curriculum embodies a rare combination: the precision of an academic and the broad vision of someone who believes true education must nurture the whole person — mind, heart, body, and their relationship to the earth.
